How we use collected information

Echo may collect and use User’s personal information for the following purposes:

  • To send emails or push notifications

These are sent with the User’s own content that is entered through the App, or with content entered by others and shared with the User. We may use a User’s name and email address for these notifications. We may occasionally also send other emails such as company news, updates, related product or service information, etc, and we will use your basic personal information to respond to inquiries, questions, and/or other requests. You may at any time change your preferences or turn off notifications, which will alter or cease the specific notifications you receive. You may also cancel your account at any time, in which case we will cease sending you reminder emails, but you may continue getting shared content from others until you specifically turn off those notifications. We may use a third-party mailing list service for company announcements or occasional marketing emails, and you may need to unsubscribe from these emails separately other types of emails.

  • To determine if contacts are Echo users
If a User gives permission for the app to access their contact list / address book, the app will determine if they have existing Echo accounts or not. This functionality is used is to display an indication to the User that some specific contacts are existing Echo users (for their convenience). No personal information is sent to our servers, or stored/shared/used for any other reason.

  • To improve customer service

We will not share information about anyone who you add to groups, feeds or shared prayers, and they will not receive marketing emails unless they sign up for Echo on their own.

Information you choose to share

One of the core features of the app is the ability to share prayer requests with individuals or groups. These features are optional, and it is possible to use Echo simply as an individual tool with no sharing. By using any of the sharing or group features, you are purposely allowing others to see content that you've created in Echo. You should take care when choosing what to share and with whom, since your prayers may be personal.

There are also messaging features build into the app. Using messaging or commenting is optional, and you should take care to post only information that you want others to see.
